I’m Assim Ishaque. My intention for my podcast is to continue to help entrepreneurs around the world achieve their positive business ambitions. My work as a Coach and Speaker has taken me around the world, working with leading accelerators, banks and universities supporting ambitious innovators to progress forward with greater confidence.
I believe that a lot of business education lives in a ‘idealistic-rational world’ and reality is NOT like this at all. Having let go of my ‘ego’ and accepting responsibility for my many failures, I willingly talk about the difficult road to business success.

My Story
I started early, daydreaming about inventions from a very young age. My education was all-around business and my degree was in Accounting & Finance from Bangor University, where I also was diagnosed as dyslexic! After graduation, I won a coveted place in the HSBC Bank Executive Training Program, after which I progressed into a varied corporate career in Sales with Everready-Energizer and then Virgin Media. Being made redundant from this last role gave me the push to start my own consultancy which focussed on Commercial Building Energy & Sustainability. My company grew and was profitable working with Local Authorities, National Government, Corporates and billionaire property moguls in London. I won awards for my voluntary work in the community and business was good.
This followed with fundraising for Renewable Energy and Low Carbon technology in Europe, on projects worth over Euro 250m. My dyslexic brain leads me to my own innovations in Energy Efficiency for ‘old cold homes’. Thousands of hours of work, and collaborations with leading researchers and corporate partners lead to my first patent and IP package. With Innovate UK and corporate partners, we invested over £1,000,000 into the project and had letters of intent for the first £14,000,000 of production. Sadly the project suddenly stalled due to a change in direction of our production partner and we are now looking for a route forward for the innovation. In between, I created an interesting toy invention that spun out and now sells internationally. The shock of failure of my first invention lead to some serious soul searching and my epiphany – the ‘lack of reality’ in business education and acceleration from which I created models to help protect me from my failures.
My first presentation was to a class of international MBA students – they loved the ideas, so I created The Entrepreneurs Trust to share my ideas with like-minded people and sponsors this podcast too. I have been honoured to present my ideas to the innovators and accelerators around, in person and virtually. Click on the link below to find out about me and The Entrepreneurs Trust.
